You go to your favorite takeout place. The folks who run it are immigrants. They've got the TV on with the news from back home. Except for names like people and places, you don’t really understand what's being said.
Because you've never heard anything like this before.
Sunday's Gospel is the aftermath of the Resurrection. People are telling the Apostles about seeing the risen Christ. And they really don’t understand what that means. Because they've never heard anything like this before.
When Jesus shows up, they're still don’t understand what it really means for Him to be risen from the dead. Because they're trying to understand the Resurrection based on what they know. And it's just not working.
Which is understandable. Because this has never happened before.
More on this tomorrow.
