Are we there yet?

I’m hungry.

Are we there yet?

She’s touching me.

Are we there yet?

When you hear things like that, you know it’s a great trip.  The kind of trip that makes you never want to get in a car again.  Ever.

In the first reading for Sunday (Exodus), Moses and Aaron don’t just get a car full of whiners.  They get an entire people of whiners.

One month ago, God’s people left Egypt.  God leads them in a pillar of fire, rescues them from a pursuing army, and frees them from slavery.  And now?

They wish they were dead.

The miracle?  That God doesn’t grant their wish.

More on this tomorrow.  Readings for Sunday: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/080215.cfm
