Completely miserable

In last Sunday’s epistle, Paul told us to stop doing all of the stupid stuff we used to do before we knew Jesus.  It’s a waste of time.  And it’s not who we are as Christians.

This Sunday’s epistle (Ephesians) picks up where last Sunday left off.  And gets specific.  With a list of things to get rid of - bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, reviling, and all malice.

So what do these things have in common?  All of them will make you and everyone around you completely miserable.

And (since they have their roots in pride), they will also put distance between you and God.

Well, after we get rid of all of that stuff, then we just sit around and hope it doesn’t come back, right?  No.  There’s something else coming to take its place.

More on this tomorrow.
