Starting with Ash Wednesday, we had over a month of build-up to Easter. Lent was full of all kinds of extras. On Holy Thursday, everything went slow motion for 3 days. To make sure we didn’t miss a thing. And only then did we get to Easter Sunday.
Even though the church is still full of Easter stuff, we’re Eastered-out. It’s done, right?
Sure. If Easter’s just another big event that comes and goes. And we just haven’t gotten around to picking up after it.
But what if it’s not? What if Easter’s about the gift of God’s undying mercy, for each of us? How do we deal with that?
That’s what Divine Mercy Sunday is all about.
