As the “official Catholic,” how you respond to questions/complaints about Catholic stuff gets treated as the official position of the Church. You didn't ask for it. But it's going to happen.
When it does, there can be a big gap between the faith and that person's ideas. Or it could be politically charged. Or deeply personal. Or all of the above.
If you blow it, they'll hate you forever. No pressure.
Seriously, how do you respond to something that loaded?
Slow down. Listen. To the person. Not just the words they're saying.
Pray before you speak. And then speak with love. You'll be amazed at the good that God can do through you, if you let Him.
