Ordinary Time is all about the big picture. A “back-to-basics” for the faith. Which might sound like it’s a little beneath us, especially if we’ve been doing this for a while (or we were paying attention in RCIA).
But it really isn’t, at least for me. Because I’m just a little too good at ignoring the obvious.
Especially if it’s something difficult. Or it conflicts with how I think things ought to be.
Taking some time on the fundamentals of the faith? It's the best way I can think of to get my feet back on the ground. To help me get over me.
Which is why getting (re)acquainted with God, who God is, and my relationship to God will be time well-spent. I could use a little Ordinary Time.
