When I was coming into the Catholic Church (yes, I’m a convert), I heard a lot from my Protestant friends and family about what was wrong with the Church. From confession to “worshipping” Mary, their ideas had little to do with the actual Church. Except for one thing.
That Catholic preaching was pretty forgettable. In my limited experience, they weren’t wrong. I told myself I could do a better job, if I only had the chance.
Fast forward a few years. Today, my deacon formation class starts a week-long intensive course at St. Meinrad Seminary.
Looks like it’s time to put up or shut up.
More on this tomorrow.
