The best part of Halloween?  Trick or treating.  It’s fun to figure out your costume, and make/scrounge/borrow to put it together.  And then see how much candy you can haul in wearing it.

Handing out the treats is great too.  I love seeing the costumes, whether they’re last minute or took days to make.  And I always buy way too much candy, to make sure I’ll have some for any kid who makes the effort and who asks.

The Gospel for All Souls (John) is God’s plan for us when we die.  And it’s surprisingly simple.  No matter what we’ve done or how bad we think we are, God won’t reject us if we come to Him.

Which is kind of like trick or treating.  God won’t turn us away, even if we don’t get it together until the last minute.  And God is eagerly waiting for us to make the effort and to ask.
