On the Sunday before Palm Sunday, the 3rd Scrutiny was Lazarus. We got Jesus talking with Martha and Mary about eternal life and who He really is. Then Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. It's like a preview of Easter.
Tomb empty? Check.
Burial cloths set aside? Check.
Alive with friends and family? Check.
Apart from Jesus’ horrific death, it’s pretty much the same thing, right?
Not exactly. When Lazarus comes out of the tomb, he's back to being Lazarus. He’s alive again, but not much else has really changed.
With Jesus, there's a difference. It's definitely Jesus. And He’s back from the dead. But there's something else going on.
