It’s Seurat’s famous painting.  It got it’s own scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  It’s been parodied by everybody from Family Guy to the Office.  But up close, it’s just a bunch of random dots. 

Perspective changes everything. 

Sunday’s Gospel (Luke) starts out with mass murder.  Then goes to natural disaster.  And then a parable about a fig tree.  A bunch of random stuff. 

Step back. 

All the way back. 

There’s a bigger picture here.  Something even more important than murder and disaster.  Something with eternal consequences.
