The opposite of trolling

The joy of trolling (if there is any) is the lack of accountability.  You can say anything.  Be as mean as you want.  If anybody has a problem, too bad.

In Sunday’s first reading (2 Samuel), Nathan's going to talk to David.  Someone he's guided and mentored, someone he really cares about.  And someone he works for.  Which makes what Nathan's got to do not just difficult, but dangerous.

If Nathan's going to help David by calling him back, he's got to put their friendship on the line.  And his job.  And maybe even his life (back then, a messenger could get killed for bringing bad news).

Pretty much the opposite of trolling.

More on this tomorrow.   Readings for Sunday
