The "why" of Pentecost.

In a lot of the classic depictions of the Last Supper, you see John leaning on Jesus.  Even falling asleep while he's leaning on Jesus.

That's pretty amazing to think about, curling up next to Jesus.  And the last thing you hear before drifting off to sleep?  The heartbeat of the One that made you.

That's beautiful, but what does it have to do with Pentecost?  A lot, as it turns out - it's part of the "why" of Pentecost.  With Jesus physically present, that's only going to happen for one person at a time.  It's too bad it has to be that limited.

With the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, it doesn't have to be.

More on this tomorrow.
