There are a lot of riveting stories. Some of them become graphic novels and books, others get made into TV programs and movies, still others inspire fan fiction and art. And some get all of the above.
The whole narrative arc from Advent through Pentecost is pretty compelling, even without the intense part - Holy Week and Triduum. So what makes this different from all the other riveting stories?
Quite a lot, actually. Two of those differences are important for Sunday's readings. First, it's not just a story, it's historical fact. And the second? The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is what makes it personal. Not just in the sense of being personally meaningful, it's much deeper than that. And that's part of the "why" of the Holy Spirit.
More on this tomorrow.
