Wait for it

You’re 7 years old.  It’s a perfect summer Saturday when Mom asks if you want to go to the park.  You blurt out an excited “Yes!” before she can finish her sentence with “…next week.”  Leaving you sputtering.” 

It's kind of like that in the first reading (Acts).  Jesus reminds the Apostles of what John the Baptist said, and lets them know that it's going to happen in a few days. 

But they're not really listening.  Like a bunch of excited kids, the Apostles are blurting out questions about the kingdom and bugging Jesus about what's going to happen next. 

He's already told them.   And it's going to be big.  But there's something that has to happen first.
