On "Who Do You Think You Are?", celebrities work with professional genealogists to discover their family's history. In each episode, a celebrity goes to different locations important to the lives of their ancestors, to learn about who their ancestors were and what they did. Part of what makes the show remarkable is the celebrities' reactions to what is revealed to them and what they learn about themselves in the process.
This Sunday's readings continue the themes of the last several weeks of Ordinary Time, with a much greater focus on Jesus and exactly who he is.
But in a twist on the format of "Who Do You Think You Are?", in Sunday's Gospel it is Jesus who does the revealing. And it is Jesus' reaction to what the Apostles learn about him that makes the Gospel truly remarkable.
More on Sunday's readings tomorrow.
